A while ago I collaborated with Tim Andrews for his project. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him and a great opportunity for me to do something different from my usual photography.
The thought of how he is working with so many different photographers was quite daunting & when trying to plan what to do I wanted to do something unique. I emailed Tim regularly before the shoot planning ideas, and we decided to make it more of a joint theme about struggling with an illness. We collaborated in a way that I was in some of the photographs too but its the above two photographs of Tim that I think show what we wanted to say the most.
Please take the time to look at Tim's blog, he is doing a wonderful thing and is a wonderful man.

My apologies for the lack of updates on my online profiles lately, things in my life are quite up & down and now the new term has started I'm busy again.
This photograph is for my self portraiture series 'Out Of The Shadows', the series so far can be seen on my website.

I've wanted to work with a 'plus size' model for a while now, and with my plans for testing over the summer I contacted Hughes Models. They were happy for me to test with the stunning Tara Dee so we arranged a beauty shoot with MUA Adele Sanderson. What both I and Adele loved about Tara was her eyes and freckles, so we tried a natural and more creative look to bring these out.
Tara was a pleasure to work with and to be honest I still can't quite believe that she is classed as 'plus size', I'm glad that agencies like Hughes are available so that their models can make more of an impact in the industry.

A couple of days away from the start of September, I am wondering where the summer went. I'm sitting in my new office room with Willow curled up asleep on my lap, writing a 'to do' list of everything I've been putting off.. The main thing that I will be doing over the next couple of weeks is finalising lesson plans ready for the start of the new term. I'm excited to get back to work, to start teaching again as well as to get inspired for my own photography.
Autumn is my favourite season and I am looking forward to the coloured leaves, knitwear and flavoured hot chocolates... It has always been a symbol of a new start for me (I changed schools a lot as a child and always dreaded being the new girl in September) but now I can definitely see this as a positive one.

This photo was taken in the beautiful light that comes through my studio window. I've seen it a few times and finally now I have grasped the opportunity to use it for a self portrait.
It also fits in with the self portraiture series that I have been doing... Although I abandoned it for a while recently, it is still a project that I am continuing. Throughout my process of shooting what I have so far and exploring self portraiture, I have been keeping the photos all separate, but now I am starting to bring them all together and will soon reveal what they are about.. which will help this make sense!
